Olympian Grading with Master Gerry Joyce
I first met Master Gerry 3 years ago when I was asked to go down to represent UKTDC on a Dan promotion test. I was a observer to make sure things were all correct and above board.

Me and Master Gerry hit it off right away and we have become friends in that time.
Master Gerry was on the grading panel for my 5th Dan he was surprised at how well I moved for a big man.
At this grading I was representing UKTDC again in a official capacity not only to grade the students but also delivering the long awaited Kukkiwon certificate for Master Gerry's Black belts and Dan grades who due to covid restrictions in Korea have had to wait for their kukkiwon certificates to arrive.
It was my pleasure to be able to take them down but also sit on the grading panel to grade the students who put in maximum effort on the day.
There were a few nerves on show due to my presence as a new face watching them put a bit of extra pressure on them.
Some of the little ones have no fear at all.
They did their stuff with maximum gusto and where not fazed in the slightest.
I am looking forward to going back for the next grading when I am invited to go. It was a pleasure and a real honour to go see different students doing their Taekwondo.
